Villasuso Palace

Located in Plaza de Machete, it was built in the mid-16th century. A palace built from stone, ashlar on the backs of the walls and dressed stone in the noble parts: doorway, corner crest and spanned openings. The original doorway opened onto the small Villasuso square in the upper section. Here we find two differentiated parts: the lintelled door, flanked by columns and the crest of the Salinas family. The current doorway, which opens onto Machete square is crowned by an open gallery, trabeated with columns. The interior has been significantly altered as a result of current needs, such as the Municipal Culture Offices and the Congress Centre which are housed here, although the main hall, the patio and the exhibition room are particularly notable. It is currently owned by Vitoria Town Council and is used for its culture offices.
