The building is 100% sustainable from an energy perspective, with geothermal heating and hot water systems powered by solar panels installed on the roof. By harnessing the natural heat stored in the ground, we efficiently provide heating and hot water in an environmentally friendly way, producing zero CO₂ emissions. Built in 1819, the house is located in Manurga, a quiet village with a long history and beautiful manor houses worth visiting. Manurga lies at the heart of the Basque Country, within the largest natural park in the region, Gorbeia Natural Park. It is the perfect setting for mountain excursions and outdoor activities, while also offering a strategic location for discovering the most attractive destinations in the Basque Country, all less than an hour away by car. Vitoria-Gasteiz, known for its green spaces and well-preserved medieval quarter, home to the magnificent Cathedral of Santa María. NEARBY SERVICES Just 5 minutes away by car are the towns of Murguía and Gopegi, where you will find all kinds of services, including supermarkets, bars, restaurants, shops, a swimming pool, a park with picnic tables and swings, and children's play areas. The Gorbeia Shopping Centre is only 10 minutes away, offering an even wider range of shopping and leisure options. In just 15 minutes by car, you can reach Vitoria-Gasteiz, where you will find all the services, entertainment, and attractions of a modern city. HOUSE FEATURES This spacious property, with over two centuries of history, has been carefully renovated several times to achieve the perfect balance between a traditional Basque farmhouse—with its thick stone walls and generous spaces—and the comfort of modern living, complete with all necessary amenities. The entire house is rented exclusively and is not shared with other guests. It accommodates up to 12 or 13 people, allowing guests to enjoy complete privacy without sharing common areas. There are six bedrooms on the first floor, as well as an additional room that can be used as a children's playroom, reading room, or workspace for adults. On the ground floor, you will find a comfortable lounge, a spacious fully equipped modern kitchen, and a large traditional "txoko" featuring a fireplace, wood-burning stove, and traditional wood-fired oven. Food lovers can experience the pleasure of cooking as it was done by previous generations in rural Basque homes and enjoy the authentic flavours of traditional cuisine. Also on the ground floor are a guest toilet and two bathrooms, one with a bathtub and the other with a shower. On the first floor, where all the bedrooms are located, there is an additional full bathroom with a shower. Outside, the house features a large open courtyard, formerly used as the farmhouse threshing floor, which now serves as a private parking area. There is also a covered outdoor space where guests can enjoy a barbecue, relax with a drink, and unwind after a day of sightseeing. Both inside and outside, the property offers generous spaces where children can play safely and freely in a village with virtually no traffic.
