Description:

In Urdaibai natural reserve, just 3 km from the beaches, we find Caserío Merrutxu of Ibarrangelu. Caserío Merrutxu is one of the oldest in the area, dating back to the 16th century, over 500 years ago. Initially of mud and dried clay, over successive generations it has been transformed into its curr...ent state. In its latest refurbishment, special attention has been given to elegantly combining comfort and technology for guests with nature and aspects related both to agriculture and to winemaking. The Caserío is set in 20,000 square metres, with a small wine cellar and a vineyard for the production of our Txakolí Merrutxu (wine with denomination of origin), two greenhouses where traditional Gernika pepper and salad tomatoes are cultivated, landscaped areas and areas for parking... Our guest facilities include both rooms, one of which has been specifically designed for disabled people, and apartments fitted with kitchens with a dining area, central heating, fully fitted bathroom, terrestrial digital TV and WiFi Internet access.
