Description:

Kaxkarre country house is a stone and wood construction that dates back to the mid 17th century, which was restored in 2000 by its current owners. It is located in the town of Astigarraga, along St. James’ Way, just 750 metres from Santiago Chapel on the Santiago Mendi hilltop, a spectacular spot su...rrounded by mountains facing the Urumea Valley, in the cider-producing area and 8 Km from San Sebastian, approximately 10 minutes by car. In the surrounding area there are a good number of cider houses and restaurants where you can enjoy the well-known and well-appreciated Basque cuisine and the traditional cider house menus. The Kaxkarre country house is a three-storey building. On the ground floor, we have the living room, dining room, kitchen and a bathroom. On the second floor, there are 2 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, one with a balcony and another with a terrace, and another 2 with a shared bathroom. The owners of the house live on the third floor. It is surrounded by mountains and woods, and has one lovely garden with swings and another with an outdoor grill and tables. The views of the sunsets from the terrace are unbeatable. Just a few minutes away by car are the beaches of San Sebastian, La Concha, Ondarreta and La Zurriola, one of the main surfing beaches in the north, the beach of Fuenterrabia or the beautiful, tranquil French beaches in Hendaye, Saint Jean de Luz or Les Landes. There are also many routes of interest to visit nearby valleys and towns, such as Oiarzun, Getaria or Fuenterrabia. We are just 5 minutes drive from the motorway which takes you to Bilbao or Pamplona in 45 minutes.A peaceful, relaxing place to enjoy walking, mountain biking, horse riding or simply to delight in the beauty of the views. Breakfast is included in the price of the room.
