Description

Discover the impressive Mirandaola Ironworks in the Mirandaola Park, one of the most important heritage sites in the Basque Country! Located at the foot of the lush nature of the Aizkorri Natural Park, it is a living symbol of Basque culture.

The ironworkers, dressed as in the 16th century, will immerse you in their fascinating history of more than 400 years. Watch how the fire, fanned by two mighty bellows, heats the iron to 1300 degrees, ready to be forged by a hammer weighing more than 400 kilos. The sparks from the fire, the power of the water and the sound of the hammer make this an unforgettable experience!

Taste the pintxo-ferrón, a delicious txistorra sausage grilled on the embers of the ironworks itself, served with homemade bread and cider. An incomparable gastronomic experience!

Next to the ironworks, you can also visit the Chapel of Mirandaola, which commemorates the Miracle of the Cross of Mirandaola, which took place on 3 May 1580.
