Especially in March and April, when all the lambs are born at the Erreizabal farmhouse, this visit becomes a real spectacle. Even under normal circumstances, the visit has a special magic, as it is the farmer herself who opens the door of her farmhouse and shows us her craft and the most important Basque traditions. But in the days of February, March, or April, when the lambs are born, it is truly a wonderful sight.
During the visit, you can also book the shepherd’s snack, which consists of cheese, bread, and cider.
There is also the possibility of buying handmade cheese at the farmhouse dairy from one of the producers, Arantza Segurola, who has won the most Idiazabal cheese competitions in Gipuzkoa.
