The geological evolution of the Oiartzun valley and of the whole Basque Country is dealt with in Luberri. The centre has a collection of minerals and fossils, which all have educational panels in Basque, Spanish and French.
Set in the Oarsoaldea area and the natural reserve of Aiako Harria, with its great geological and palaeontological richness, Luberri aims to make this heritage known in an educational manner. The Geological Interpretation Centre takes us on a journey through the last billion years, allowing visitors to see the geological history of the area and of the entire Basque Country.
Oiartzun Museum has forty displays, where we can appreciate the collections of rocks, minerals and fossils. Structured around two themed halls, 'Geological History of Euskal Herria' and 'Geology of the Oiartzun Valley', the centre has a laboratory and a specialist library for research and queries.
