Visitors to El Pobal can enjoy three clearly differentiated but interrelated areas: firstly, the different rooms in the ironworks building, which form the main part of the site; secondly, the flour mill room, which is fully equipped and ready to work; and finally, the palatial house of the Salazars, bearing witness to the residential character of the site, which was also built at the beginning of the 16th century in late Gothic style, in order to house the foundry workers.
The site is rounded off with two bread ovens, recently restored, and the old 17th-century bridge which spans the waters of the Barbadún.
The Palace houses the reception area of the museum, with an exhibition on the milling industry on the first floor.
The ironworks is based around a central nave which includes the piston room (the mechanism which blows air into the ironworks furnace, recently recovered in archaeological excavations) and the hammering room, which, surprisingly, has conserved the valuable hammer and also the anvil and the mineral reduction oven half-buried in the ground.
