Zubiaurretzu country house, building refurbished with stone and wood. Extended on 3 occasions.This is an 18th-century country house, which, now refurbished, has the rectangular line of a hip roof house, with independent access to the dwellings. The stone can be seen on the facade of the house, and the wood on the roof. The roof is a mix of concrete and natural wood, this achieving perfect insulating. It is located in Derio, a town close to Bilbao (8 km) and the coastal area of Vizkaya (15km). Part of the Txorierri Valley. It is just 5 minutes from the airport (3 km) and 2 minutes form Zamundio technology park, with which it practically borders. At the same time it is in the middle of nature, surrounded by hills and meadows. One of the meadows close to the country house is crossed by a river which has been very important for agricultural development and for cattle breeding. Families at the country house have always been dedicated to agriculture, particulary to the picking of fruit, especially apples, for which many prizes have been won. This harves was sold at Bilbao market. Also worthy of note are cattle and pig breeding, for subsequent slaughtering. For many years this country house supplied milk to the city of Bilbao. Delivery was by donkey or horse, delivered straight to homes. This was one way of collaborating in the family economy, along with the sale of agricultural produce in the square or at Ribera market. Up until a few years ago the orchards were worked, with the harvest is being sold at the Ribera market in Bilbao. Nowadays par of the house is destined to use as a rural house, with 4 double rooms and 4 individual rooms with TV and Internet in all rooms, and a lounge/dining room.
