The country house is in the Ametzola district in the Valley of Zeberio, bordering on the Gorbea Natural Park and around 25 km from the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. The country house was built in the 16th century, later refurbished as a bi-family dweling after a fire in the 18th century, and completely rebuilt when we bought it in a ruinous state around 25 years ago. The image of the building takes us back at leas 100 years, now offering a high level of comfort with a central heating system, running hot water, large bathroom (3 to 6 m) with hydro-massage showers, toilet, fitted basin and towel warmers in all rooms. The mattresses and pillows are all orthopaedically designed and, along with the duvets, treated with insect repellent, The lounge is fitted with comfortable sofas, and is split into two different atmospheres. There is a completely sealed fire-heater, allowing us to enjoy the flames without any unpleasant smoke. The views from the house are outstanding, dominated mainly by an important part of Zeberio Valley with Gorbea Natural Park opposite to the south. Part of the splendid Arratia Valley lies to the east, with Urkiola Natural Park in the distance, and the mountains which surround Bibao to the west. It is not infrequent that the country house wakes to find itself above a sea of clouds which can cover the valley for over an hour, with the hills clearly visible on the horizon. Not forgetting that we can enjoy wild fauna, especcilay birds, and occasionally hedgehogs, foxes, genets, squirrels... and watch vultures take flight.
